The pokemon games have gotten progressively better and comparing the previous generations is like comparing an animal going through its evolutionary states. Yes, mankind of yesteryear had more muscle but we sacrificed that muscle for brain power and can even build a decent amount of muscle today.
Things are getting better BECAUSE we're building off the past. Every gen helped make the others following it better and discounting/prioritizing one over the others is childish.
