I got into competitive Pokemon in Gen 4. I wanted to play on my DS because back then I gave a shit about visuals, so I didn't like Shoggy, PO or Showderp, but nowadays I would play them if I was into competitive. I didn't have any hack tools either and sucked at RNG abusing, so I just had to do stuff in the hardest way.
I wanted to use Blissey in my competitive team, so I went to Trophy Garden to hunt some good natured and IV'd Chanseys.
Naturally that shit took forever, because the IV's were shit or no right nature or something. It's obvious that I also encountered shitloads of mons too.
A battle started a Pikachu colored Pichu appeared on my screen and a blink of a star followed its cry.
I was like ''HOLY FUCK I WILL SO CATCH THIS FUCKER''. I didn't spare my Master Ball for possible shinies, because back then I was so casual that I caught the box legendary with Master Ball, so I didn't dare to weaken it because didn't want to take any risks. So spammed balls for a while, and the fucker finally got caught.
I was so happy to finally encounter a legit shiny, though to be honest, the Pichu line shinies are rather lame in my opinion, but whatever, completely legit shiny is a completely a legit shiny.
I have been thinking about evolving it to Pikachu and give it a lightball and use it on my team, but I still haven't bothered to do it yet however and I might never do it and just let it be a cool statue-like pokemon rather than a battler.
