Were you here during Gen 5 when everyone was enjoying the fuck out of BW/BW2? People love Pokemon, but they can't express that love off of just fanart and headcanons alone, the games need to be good too, and for the past 5 years or so they really haven't been.

Bland story, horrible QOL that lacks difficulty settings, cutscene skip and multiple save files, extremely below average graphics and a low level of content. Really, if you compare Pokemon games to other JRPGs like Xenoblade, Tales Of, Final Fantasy, ect, these games are the worst of the bunch by a wide mile and would probably bomb if not for the Pokemon, but everyone loves the Pokemon themselves so they do great despite the shortcomings.
Is it really that shocking that when GF removes the Pokemon that people get beyond upset?
Be honest, would you play a game that has all the shortcomings of Gamefreak's game design but minus the Pokemon?
