>>46715223The main hatred towards Iris was derived from Ash's pathetic handling that season, Iris's character was funny and her behavior towards others was justified by her overconfidence and level as a pokemon trainer, but by that time Ash should not be the monkeybutt of the group, especially since its development in DP. Personally, I think she would have functioned better as a recurring character like Bianca and they would leave the role of the main girl to Hilda or Rosa.
