When the fake leaker rubs your nose in the fact they know more than they're letting on but don't want to "spoil" you or whatever other reason they can come up with.

If the leaker feels like they need to explain how they got said info, it's because they don't have confidence that their claims and/or evidence can stand on their own merit.
>"Leaking" the obvious
Whether this is stuff that is already revealed or simply easily predicted based on past behavior, this is just pointless filler to give their fake leaks extra credibility.
>Repeating popular ideas
This tactic can be used primarily two ways: to hook those who desperately want promised features to be true, and to piggy back off of leaks with perceived greater credibility. "Post game in Kalos" is a good example of the former, while "Armored Evolutions" is a good example of the latter.
