I don't think any other starter had a debut in the anime made for it to look better than the other starters while also making the others look bad. Decidueye is getting some love too in the form of Pokken, like Braixen did, and Rowlet being shilled. Primarina is getting by far the least amount of love by GF, it seems.
Still more balanced than Gen 6 though, yeah.
