Challenge Ground-Types with Levitate, counter Fire-Types with Heatproof, pull a fast one on setup sweepers with Sturdy + Metal Burst, punish multi-hit attacks with Stamina, so on.
Not only would the player get a hands-on demonstration of how abilities can make or break a mon, the Mirror Shot spam opens up the idea of making a Steel-Type into an evasion tank and suddenly makes even useless abilities like Keen Eye or Illuminate highly-valuable tools the player can benefit from.
