until people tied together its different traits:
>crabrawler is a rocky reference
>but instead of just going off on a training arc, he becomes a hermit in the mountains (literal mountains: you have to evolve him in mount lanakila in sun/moon)

>and the straw hat crabominable is wearing is based on not just those hermit hats but coconut palm hats, so a second continuation of the coconut/coconut crab theming
there's probably some more I missed but I was shocked during s/m's prerelease/release window how much CONCEPT went into the design. One of my favorite mons.
