Pic related is just a purple bird, but it's Ghost-type because it draws power from spirits. Same with Alolan Marowak. It itself isn't a ghost, but it's protected by its mother's spirit. Decidueye is just Ghost because it's stealthy and Incineroar already took Dark. And there's Lunala too.
Ghost is now just another "element" like any other type.
