I've always been a poorfag and so never got consoles or games until I was eight years old, which is a bit older than a fair amount of people here - I didn't even get my first Nintendo console until about a year later after my parents separated.
One thing I do remember, though, are the VHS tapes of the show I had, and just watching the show in general. I don't really remember /not/ having them; at least until my mum took them and stuffed them in the clothes donation box when I was ten or eleven due to my not doing my chores. I was extremely distraught over that.
Either way, I think my favourite episode was Th Great Race; the one with Ash riding Ponyta. I'm not sure why I loved it, but it might've been because it was so satisfying to see Dario or whatever his name was get his ass justly beat.
