Not kuch you can do but let the cat know you love it. Try to give it something it really loves whenever it is able. For my cat, she loved to be brushed around her face. For those times when the cat doesn't want to be bothered, just do what you normally do and try to distract yourself a bit.
Play a new file of HGSS maybe. That's what I did technically.
