if you just complete the dex and get perfect research you get the odds boost of 1/1024.
while i was casually playing the game i fortunately caught a shiny without trying to shiny hunt, but trying to complete the dex.
its longer its slower, but i feel like its the inteded way of playing.
nuzzlockers are not going to like this game because its about stopping smelling the roses and doing research, not being a try hard.
