I tried playing the TCGO a while back, and while I liked it a lot, it definitely had "Good ideas gone wrong" syndrome.
>Let's make a series of single player campaigns so they can learn the game at their own pace!
>Sure, but let's use piss-drinking-retarded AI so they won't ever lose or be challenged in any way aside from bad luck.
>What about letting players earn individual card packs by themselves so they can construct their own decks before going against other people?
>Ok, but let's restrict the single player to pre-constructed only so they can't actually try the cards they get (yes there's the practice mode but the restriction is still dumb)
>What about letting a new player earn a small amount of coins and packs on their own to help them get started.
>Alright, but you should only get them once you've beaten the same AI deck 10 times.
And then when you do go online, you get to fight pic related every single game. The only fucking way to kill this thing is to have some miracle evolution combo building up on the bench while some high HP mon (not as high as the mewtwo railing you of course) sacrifices itself to buy you time. And then if you don't 1-shot it, you're fucked because you played any energy at all.
>but anon you get TWO prizes!
Which requires killing the fucker. And I don't see any removal spells in this game either so unless you managed to draw something even more bullshit turn one you can just tap out now.
I really want to like this but fuck. EVERY GAME
