Dropped out of my stats master's program back in December 2019. It basically wasn't a right fit for me since I didn't vibe with my peers at all and felt like I was just learning the same things I already did in undergrad. My advisor was also no help for my thesis which was basically the last straw for me. The pandemic was honestly good timing since I wasn't doing very well mentally throughout grad school. I really needed this time away from academia.
Sadly, the pandemic seems to be nearing its end soon. My parents have been annoyed with the fact that I've just been a NEET this whole time. I still haven't broken the news to them that I never finished my program since I know they'll be super pissed. I'm under a bit of student debt due to this stupid program, which luckily was put on hold because of the pandemic. I know that I should look for a job but I just feel so anxious and nervous about it. I have no job experience and I am not sure how I am going to make it with a 5 year old bachelor's degree and especially as a dropout.
Just thinking about my future makes me feel god awful. The only things that are keeping me going are working out at the gym, catching up with older games and anime and self learning Japanese. I really do enjoy this NEET life, but it's too bad I can't live this way forever. Fuck.
