my take is that D/P are FINE. Definitely still playable, and there's a lot of shit to do in them (as opposed to pretty much every much 3D game where it's the main campaign and then nothing). But there's no defending the slow as fuck battle system and shitty dex that's missing half the Gen 4 mons. If both of those were looked at by GF prior to release I don't think Platinum would be lauded nearly as much as it is now; it's just the fact that it's 'Sinnoh but not with absurd misuse of resources' that makes it look so appealing to people. (That and not being ugly as fuck along with having a Battle Frontier and actual Secret Bases, unlike BDSP)
