What is the function of a fork? To spear food so it can be raised to the mouth via its prongs.
Let's say we have two forks. One is simple steel, with no ornamentation. The other is also steel, but has an embossed flower design along the handle.
Functionally, neither fork is objectively bad because they both serve their function. Subjectively one might prefer the flower embossed one because of the aesthetic. But this is purely due to taste; another person might subjectively find the simple steel one more aesthetically appealing.
However, if I was to make a third fork with steel spheres welded to the end of each prong, it would impede the function of a fork to pierce food. This is an objective flaw. The chair above covered in broken glass is similar
Where this applies to Phanpy's color is thus: Ground type is established as brown in Pokemon, whereas Water type is established as blue. We can see this in the type icons. Therefore at least in communicating visually the Type of Phanpy, it is an objective flaw based on established logic. Does this make the whole design bad? We would have to look at other aspects. This is only one facet.
However someone, aka me, finds Phanpy's color to be cute, and subjectively I like it. This is why I use statements like "I think, personally, I like, etc"
Hopefully this clears things up, thanks for coming to my autism talk
