While I like the game, the few things I don't like about it drag the game down a lot.
>The Good
I really like the visuals, from the maps to the character designs, it's good.
The music is pretty good as well, I think my favorite is the Akui grunt's battle theme.
The earlygame pokemon variety is really good. It's not just shitters like Rejuv's earlygame shadowmons are. It reminds me of Realidea and Tales of the Outskirt Stand, where the game isn't afraid to give you strong and fun shit early.
It's pretty kino when your allies use mid battle effects to help you, it's a shame it's not done often at all.
There's a lot of nice and soulful small details, like getting outfits for the clans as you're going through the game, or having flying mons follow you wile surfing.
>The Questionable
Shadowmon availability towards the mid-endgame was...not good. There's multiple instances of catching a shadowmon early on, then running into an evolved shadow version of it later, sometimes, even pretty soon in the case of Larvitar and Pupitar being really close together compared to the other instances of these.
The mid battle effects are used way too much by random shitters imo. Maybe only having 1 or 2 using it per area, plus minibosses and bosses would've helped the fatigue I had towards them by midgame and especially endgame.
Shadowmons seemingly not getting unique moves is pretty dumb, especially when you're putting multiple of the same species around. Admittedly, I didn't purify many of them, but the ones I did never had a unique move.
The Lugia at the end really did come out of nowhere, and is only there because Shadowmons are there, I guess? I'm not a fan of it desu.
