>>51496986Because a single boost pumps Chomp's speed to almost unsurpassable levels, beefs it's attack stat to the point it has a very good chance of one shotting Toxapex even with a Jolly nature, and for no drawback aside from taking potential hits for free, but you shouldn't be using DDance when you're super vulnerable anyway. Chomp has the bulk to Dance for relatively free as well.
People will argue the +2 Sword Dance and Scale Shot setup is scarier, but you're risking Chomp's ability to survive and taking up two slots when one move can do the exact same in 2 turns. It'd turn Chomp into a very deadly lategame sweeper, but the meta has shifted so much that it won't be as devastating as it could have been in Gen 4 5 or 6.
MegaChomp goes straight to ubers however. Jolly max invest MChomp casually outspeeds Pult with a single boost, most certainly has the bulk to sustain hits, cleanly one shots Pex w/ Jolly Quake, and becomes the scariest wallbreaker in the game, all without lowering defense or risking missing like with Scale Shot.
