It might seem okay for the monsters in the wilderness because they can't comprehend what rules and laws are, but WE are of a higher cut of cloth than the dirt-dwelling, tree-climbing beasts. Human society has grown to such a powerful degree that we could literally destroy this planet and all the sniveling bottom-feeding monsters beneath us within it.
