>>53688511>>Obfuscations up the assIt probably just means they want to start pushing the meat of the code for contests, route and shadow raids, but don't want the cool stuff to get spoiled before it's ready, plus potentially kill whatever hype they can create to bring disgruntled fans back to the game.
>inb4 Niantic apologistJust taking a guess as to why they're trying to cover their tracks up even more than they already were.
Aside from that, the stuff they could retrieve seems pretty interesting:
>Master Ball (Designed for raids)>More code about battle/raid items>Shadow raids (and/or potentially all raids) will have phases where the boss becomes enrages and needs to be suppresses>Code implying both "attackers" and "defenders" can change their forms>More stuff about routes, contests, etc.Even with the current state of the game, I'm finally glad Niantic is starting to actually improve the battle features of this game. Aside from mega evolutions and a constant goose chase of buffs and nerfs, Niantic hasn't made any substantial improvements to the combat features of Pokémon GO since they added Rocket battles in summer 2019 (or I guess also adding GBL with a constant streamline of opponents in early 2020, but I'm not sure anyone was a big fan of that). Hopefully these changes will be for the better, and not something that makes it even more difficult to do the old style of raids (or, in other words, makes old raids that could be solo'd impossible to solo).
