If you're willing to sit down and listen for a few hours, they all seem like they'd be ecstatic to talk about their hobby that no one else finds interesting, but to them its the most fascinating thing ever. Even if you didn't understand what makes their hobby interesting, as long as make an effort to be somewhat engaged in their hobby, you'd at the least make a close friend make them happy.
