Ghost typing is easily top 5 offensive typings in the game, only being resisted by dark and immune to normal. Ghost types always have a seat at the top of their respective metas as offensive wallbreakers; this gen having Dragapult, Gengar, Polteageist,Chandelure, Aegislash.
Outside of offensive capability, one of the best walls in the meta atm is galarian corsola. The thing never dies unless you get knocked off, taunted, badly poisoned, or you make a misplay.
I'll acknowledge that ghost types lack a good physical offensive move pool which limits viable movesets, but I'd argue that its more true the lack of speed physical ghost types have hinder them more then a lack of a physical movepool. Golurk, Trevenant, Dusknoir, Dhelmise, Decidueye. Give any of those mons base 110 speed and they'd be threats.
