Just played through the demo. I like what I saw, though the animations are a bit stiff compared to the very lively sprites. Also, wands from Super return. Speed has also been nerfed so it's movement speed now, at least according to the item descriptions. The standard attack has also been removed, which I personally think is a good thing since it was way too strong. Gummis exist, but they're different now from what I could tell and not very common stat boosters that you have to eat millions of. IQ apparently isn't there, but there's the Makuhita Dojo where you can get stat boosts.
Overall I'm cautiously optimistic.
