I'm currently starting work on a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon visual novel (completely SFW) meant to act as a way to answer "What if a Gen 7 PMD game had happened? What would the story be like?"
It'll consist of a constant "war" or battle against the Ultra Beasts, which will be treated as alien beings that are incomprehensible to the regular Pokémon of the PMD world. Because of this, I decided to use Lokix as one of the main characters in the VN because the Kamen Rider aesthetics really fit the action genre of the story. My main concern is that people will see that it's supposedly a Gen 7 PMD story and they'll dislike the fact that Gen 9 Pokémon are being used. Is this something that bothers people, or am I just being extremely autistic when I ask this? It doesn't really matter to me, because I'll keep working on the VN itself, but I just wanted to see people's opinions that issue; along with maybe seeing what people thought of the concept of the story itself.
