The entire basis of the very little original character development Dawn got was that she was absolute garbage at contests and both her and May were portrayed as prissy airheads, while Misty was basically the one who loosely mentored Ash and kept his expectations in check. She was the only level headed one in the original trio in many situations, saving Ash and Brock many more times than either of them saved her. But of course you probably realize this, you enjoy Dawn doing the exact same thing another girl did for four years, while exhibiting character traits that can directly be traced back to something else the writers had done before. She's the pinnacle of unoriginality with an obnoxious, whored-out mascot as a lead Pokemon, and she displays just how little the writers concerns themselves with creating new characters and interesting new group dynamics among the main cast. Brock was fucking background furniture during DP, and pretty much the only interaction we saw from Ash and Dawn is what the writers decided to recycle from Ash mentoring May.
And why should they even care about forging interesting, original characters, if they can depend on autists like you to watch the same thing episode after episode without becoming cognizant of how terrible it's gotten? Continue staying extremely fucking pleb, it should come natural to you at this point.
