Entering the Cerulean Gym, the two nervously made their way to Misty. Even with being level 30, Pele knew it was likely to be a difficult battle.
Once Staryu hit the field, Pele unleashed a mighty Yawn, tanking the first of many Water Pulse. The next Water Pulse sapped her energy, the fire pokemon getting off an Amnesia as the Staryu fell asleep.
Pele was administered a Super Potion, followed by performing two more Amnesia. Perhaps sensing the plan, Misty ordered Staryu to use Harden to try and weather the Secret Powers brought her way. To no avail.
Next was Starmie, Pele bracing against a Water Pulse.. And suffering little damage thanks to her earlier Amnesia. The battle was swiftly won with Yawn, a few Secret Power, and one more Super Potion, Pele and her trainer leaving the gym afterwards in high spirits.
