I really like the Fairy-type. It's not my favorite type, Flying is, but I think it initially had some sort of thing as a mystical, magic type. There is femininity as a side theme, sure, but a lot of the new Fairy-type Pokemon were Pokemon that felt like the mystical side of nature. The Seelie Court fae.
However, it feels like some Pokemon get Fairy as just a buff to make them strong. Fairy should be a type that's strong on paper but held back by Pokemon who aren't as strong. I feel like the first wave of Fairy-types, save Xerneas, were well-balanced and put that sort of idea in motion.
I want to see more weirdmons from the type. I do think Fairy-type opens up a design space that doesn't otherwise exist without it. Although I like the pink 'mons we have, I do think we need more mythology-inspired ones. Also give us Fire/Fairy will-o-wisps already.
