This game has cut everything down to the bare essentials. Nobody cares about the graphics, so we've gone back to the basics. Nobody likes the story and cuts straight through it, so we've removed the story entirely. Instead, there is one building where you fight the Gym Leaders (or Kahunas), Elite Four, and Champion in sequence. The building also houses the Pokemon Center and shop that has every item in the series. Money is no object.
"But what about catching Pokemon?" It's fat. It's been trimmed. Now the computer next to the building generates the Pokemon for you. We've also removed shiny Pokemon because they're a complete waste of time. You can pick your Pokemon's nature, IVs, EVs, and then they're set at level 100 and ready to go. Once you complete all of the boss fights, you can go ahead and play online against other people, the truly only important part of Pokemon that matters.
