Fortunately, it only knew Giga Impact, so Gastly handled it nicely with Curse.
Raticate was a complete pushover, courtesy of Brick Break and Focus Sashes being widely available.
First encounter in Verdant Cave was a SHINY Farfetch'd, who already has a 5% encounter rate. Guess I've already used up what little luck I had to start with.
