The best thing about pokemon was that you could take your bros with you on new adventures. I waited until the Crown Tundra before touching Gen 8 and I actually had a really pleasant experience playing through Sword, while everyone at launch was like 'wow these games suck'. Its because they cant actually use pokemon they like, it makes such a massive difference
