They are two of the rarest Pokemon families in the game, and two of the most rewarding as well.
Larv/Dratini are cool to walk, but you get a fair amount of them in eggs anyway, I evolved my first Tyranitar solely on egg candy.
Snorlax/Chansey/Blissey are all rare as fuck in the wild and have the lowest hatchrate of the 10ks too.
The buddy system is pretty much a life support for those guys if you're a legit player.
