Flare blitz looks good on paper thanks to the shields and knockup but it gets interrupted very easily, has a nasty cooldown, and often ends up getting you killed unless you're 1v1. It's cool for chasing fleeing opponents but that's about it. Fire blast does good damage, is good for area control and farming, and is back up practically as soon as it goes away.
Make sure you're running maxed out scope lens and remember that both fire punch and flamethrower burn and that your autos do way more damage when the target is burned.
