>>56092317If you don't know anything about the game, it's kind of difficult to explain, but I'll try my best.
There's a lot of story setup with mysteries and conflicting information and shit, but it comes down to understanding the concept of "infinite regress", which can be explained with the "turtles all the way down" concept.
Terapagos' Stellar Form clearly alludes to that concept visually, and even its dex entry references the World Turtle which has the infinite regress problem at its very core. But that's not where the parallels stop.
Dunno if you heard or know about Paradox Pokémon, but we are first led to believe that they are Pokémon from the distant future (Violet) or ancient past (Scarlet) that are being brought to present day Paldea with a Time Machine that Professor Turo (V) or Professor Sada (S) built. However, the game itself casts a lot of doubt on these claims. They were first described in the Scarlet/Violet Book written 200 year ago about an expedition into the Paldean Crater that was believed to be a complete hoax even at the time it was released. They are treated as cryptids, with very scarce and vague sightings (usually one or two unconfirmed reports) and stating things like how there were never any fossil records found. There's even Paranormal Magazines coming up with their own origin stories of those Pokémon. And Arven, the Professor's son, points out the paradox of Heath (author of the book) having allegedly seen those Pokémon 200 years ago when it was his parent's time machine that got them here in the first place. Then there was also very vague and deliberately incomplete information about Terapagos (we didn't even know its name until much later). So before the DLC, we didn't really know what the fuck was going on. And even in the DLC finale, it does not explain anything about Paradox Pokémon, which is why a lot of people were disappointed with the resolution. But there's one post-game scene that finally explained enough.
