>>40335273There's currently nothing about the games that makes me want to play them, and I can't really imagine anything that would make me change my mind at this point. I'd rather just wait and see what they choose to do next than play a game that (in my opinion) is missing a lot of fundamental features, and has new features that look more like downgrades than anything, just because it's got Pokémon in the title. It's always sad to see something you used to really love become something so different from what it used to be and no longer even being able to get excited for it, but it's not the first time this has happened so I'm already used to the progress of just getting over it. Pokémon is still important to me so I'll stick around for awhile to see what direction the games will go next, but I'm not really expecting any actual improvement because the problems run a lot deeper than just "GF being lazy".
However, I don't really mind if other people want to play it or are excited for it. I'm aware that my decision to not buy SWSH won't affect the big picture (just like it didn't when I chose to skip USUM and LGPE) so it's not meant as a statement or a boycott, and more just me not wanting to waste money and time with a game I know I wouldn't like just to be considered a "real fan" by some. Back when GO rolled around I was pretty annoyed at the blatant nostalgia pandering attracting the worst type of ~90's kids~ who apparently were the so called "true fans" and were here to "reclaim their franchise" that they had previously so readily abandoned, but if that's the crowd TPC wants for the games it just means it's time for me to find something new that actually caters to my tastes instead. No need to waste my energy getting upset at something I literally won't be able to affect in any way.
