Dokkan has been out for almost 5 years, sometimes it doesn't know what to release and they just give you the filler heroes or fusions banner, i think masters will never ever struggle when it comes to characters, there's just too many with too many different clothes, so we will never get spin off characters even less chance of stuff from manga or anime, but if this game is making original characters like lear and the rivals it feels like a good and safe opportunity to make some characters canon in the videogame universe, girls like Yellow, Rui , and Sharon from the now dead pokemon duel are super marketable
