Cased just as much balance problems as solutions (Fire didn't need buffed, bug definitely didn't need nerfed and neither did dark (dart hitting neutral on steel doesn't cover it) and the designs for both the old and the new fairies are honestly shit overall, aside from Xerneas who is amazing and a few ones that are just ok.
Instead of cool mystical stuff inspired from fairy mythology, we get pink blobs with attacks like 'play rough.' They resemble fairies as much as I resemble a cup of coffee, and I know dragon types also somewhat guilty of this, but at least about half of them resembled dragons. Only Florges is fairy like and that looks ugly as fuck, and at the very, very bottom of the pile, we have faggoteon. Vomitrociously fugly, failed horribly as the herald of the fairy type (but sadly gave us a pretty good indicator of what to expect from the type), is yet ANOTHER eeveelution, more of these boring 'dress this fox-like thing in a type' and after seeing what it did do Hydreigon, I became completely butt-blasted.
