really shit mon distribution with the same few lines reused on 90% of routes
level curve still doesn't really feel balanced for exp all, i still tend to be a few levels over wherever i'm going and i've been skipping roughly 2/3 of the trainers on every route
remind me why we needed to bring back wild encounters? especially in caves???
i do like the visuals in most areas (minus the egregious DoF) but i can see why others wouldn't, plus i played at 144 fps on emulator so i can imagine it looks worse on hardware
i do like a lot of the UI, SFX, and VFX changes though - they unironically look and sound good
but overall it's yet another case of "one step forward, eight steps back" which i should just come to expect from pokemon at this point
