His face is stylized but the construction is odd, try doing portrait studies to nail the proportions to get the style to flow better.
The line tool gives too much detail, instead use T lines and long strokes where a point meets a corner and along the outer edge of the rock pads. They don't even have to meet sometimes our brain will fill in some details.
