>>56758390>I recently got an idea to start a fanficGreat!
>where a student at Saffron City's Dojo wants to regain the honour of his MasterI wasn't aware that the dojo master needed to have his honor regained, but this is a solid motivation for a character to have. Fighting for a loved one rather than themself shows an amount of depth right off the bat
>and eventually beat Sabrina to reclaim its honour or some crap.I'm with you so far. I'd like to see Sabrina used as a primary obstacle to be overcome (I hesitate to call her a villain but I don't have a better word) as opposed to just being one of many supporting minor antagonists.
>This leads him to venture out there and even across different regions to train and go on wacky adventures. Now you've lost me. What about this setup lends itself to going out on a globe-trotting adventure? Your motivation is small scale and could easily stay within the confines of a large city, rather than going off to do countless things in faraway places. Look at it this way; what if you wrote a story like Rocky (the first film) instead of a story like Avatar: The Last Airbender?
