You have to do both Rocket events - Silph Co., then go to the Sewers and complete the underground base (Watch out for the kid, his ace is no joke) to open up the /b/hive Gym, and progress towards the longest roadblock in the game. Personally, I think your team MIIIIGHT struggle with a fight after gym 5.
I beat the E4 once, then lost the save and currently am sitting in the first half of the postgame. Once you get a system going I think the game isn't too unfair. pic is my pride, though his IVs are just awful. I could rebreed with my perfect Blobbos for Dragon Dance but sometimes its abut more than that.
