It might surprise you but I'm actually not the one who made the Regice set, in fact I came across it from a guy I fought in OU who turned out to be mid-to-high ladder (1600-1700). The only Regi he was using was Regice but it took out two of my mons and was only stopped because my Mega Venusaur managed to poison it and then I just stalled it out. The rest of his team was standard stuff, like lele and heatran, but the Regice stuck with me and after asking him he gave me his set and I started using it ever since.
It might be unorthodox but it does work. I've been using these sets in OU and BSS, and they can be pretty fun in how surprisingly effective the do their jobs.
If you want a more usual Regice set though just do the Rock Polish/Weakness Policy one. It's not my cup of tea but Regice is harder to stop with it than Regirock is and HP Grass will let you get past Quags and Slugs galore.
