You typical don't want as much energy (IIRC it's 8 Fighting and 4 DCE is what you want) but I'm running 10 fighting solely cause I've been fucked out of so many games for not having energy and the extra two seems to help. Again Tapu Lele > Spiritomb (atm I only have one) and Buzzwole is apparently good for it too. There is a pic somewhere in this thread or the previous thread for the optimal Garchu deck. Like you, I'm new to the TCG myself so take what I say with a grain of salt as I'm still learning too.
Anyway, Choice Band IMO is a must for catching KOs on certain GXs and EXs since you'll sometimes fall just short even with a Cynthia.
Again this isn't optimal, if you were to take anything from this I would have to say.
x4 Cynthia (MUST HAVE)
X2 Professor Kukui (IMO the extra damage can be clutch for netting KOs)
x2 Escapeboards (everything in that deck has 1 retreat cost so basically zero + can retreat when confused or paralyzed)
Nest balls are good too but honestly Brigette is probably better. Only reason I use Nest balls is so I can Cynthia at the same time. Like I said this deck isn't optimal but there are some good things about it.
