Try Megas, find out they don't work, so just drop them all together. Same for Z Moves and Gigantamax.
Plus they also realize that Regional Dex is the only dex that matters per game, so if time needs to be cut somewhere, trying to find out how to add Furfrou in the game somehow is a waste of time. Have a curated list of Pokemon to make each game more unique, like how Legends Arceus did it. No need to have over 1000 monsters in every game at this point.
