The films get a blank eyeroll reaction to the idea of the writing being "good" (and they're not all great) but Thanos, in his three lead-up appearances (AoU doesn't count because he didn't... do anything?) and his proper debut in Infinity War, is a goddamn master class in character building. People a hundred years from now are going to be learning about it in film school.
