I love its world. There's very little I wouldn't give to live in the Pokemon world.
The Pokemon, the ecosystems, the geography and landscapes, the people, the society, the cities and towns and regions, it's all so insanely immersive and beautiful. The thought of being a trainer or researcher or backpacker or whatever the fuck and being able to travel the world with my best friends who just so happen to be magical animals and monsters that live in harmony with humans is such an insanely cool concept and I truly, truly love everything about it.
Of course there are gameplay things I like as well, I enjoy competitive battling, breeding, collecting Pokemon, exploring regions, different gameplay challenges like nuzlockes or fanmade hard modes, stuff like that. There's a bunch of different reasons I love Pokemon.
It's hard to recognize in the current state of the franchise, but the execution of Pokemon is truly a unique thing. There's no other monster catching/collecting game other there that captures the same feel Pokemon gives me, I commend GameFreak entirely on creating such a fascinating and harmonious world. It just sucks that the higher ups like Masuda and Ishihara no longer care about well crafted games more than they do profit. But even if the series does continue to decline from this point on, I'll still have all the amazing memories of playing these games, interacting with all the other forms of media like the anime and manga and TCG, interacting with the communities surrounding it, and watching everyone else do the same.
