I read a pastbinned fic in like 2014 about a metallic creature essentially drawing blood with their partner as a form obtuse sexual encounter since the thing didn't posses genitals and because, blood having a high iron content, effectively translated to "part of you becoming part of me" kinda like how Zabuza's sword repairs itself when covered in blood.
