In fact, I'm willing to bet that if Kirlia (which literally wears a tutu- oh, and can evolve into Gallade) didn't proceed it and prime people's heads for "dress", and if Gallade weren't male-only, a lot more people would realize that it's just robes, not a dress.
...Also, the mega isn't doing it any favors, either, but I'm pretty sure that the one who made the Mega made the exact same mistake.
