My OC changes his team every new region, the justification being to take the gym challenge/island trials fairly, which means using the native pokemon of the region. The trainer card is my idea of a final team, the aggregate strongest team I'd bring in a PWT-type scenario. I also have personalities for my pokemon, based on their natures/characteristics;
Golisopod was my first pokemon - I caught it as a Wimpod, and through training overcame its cowardice to be the team's tank. Very protective of the other members.
Infernape is a daredevil type who always wants to battle, no matter the opponent. This tendency is why I have him as my lead pokemon, even if it sometimes causes trouble.
Gengar is a trickster and primarily uses its powers for playing pranks, rather than combat. Despite this lack of focus, Gengar's raw power makes it a worthwhile addition nonetheless. It's capable of Mega Evolving, but the inconsistency makes it a rare pick to do so.
Magnezone is the tactician of the team, using its three fused brains to create and execute elaborate plans. It tends to take a back seat so it can attack without interruption.
Grimmsnarl is the most recent addition and tends to play a support role. Its personality is slightly sadistic (the token "evil" teammate), preferring to bind and strangle opponents with its hair if they get too close.
Salamence is the ace of the team, and is almost always my choice for Mega Evolution. It's very proud, and prone to intense retribution if it's disrespected by an opponent.
As for the trainer himself, I'm competitive to a fault, sometimes edging into arrogance. I travel the world because staying in my home region sounds boring, and I'd rather search the world for strong opponents to make my rival.
