Pic related's the route I had to take to give my own bull fakemon a middle evo, and in the end even that had to evolve into a spider to keep from being impossible for me to draw.
I'd imagine you want something that stays a quadruped? So beyond the obvious like making the Steel typing visible and turning the spikes on its back into those sticks, I'm not too sure where to go with it yet.
