>>50383168Alright then. Once you've patched the ROM (again, make sure it's the 1.1 UE version you're patching or things will fuck up), rename this newly-patched ROM file to:
CGBBYTE1.784
You do in fact want to change the file extension to .784 like that, so make sure you have file name extensions enabled on your PC before renaming. If it has the .gbc extension it won't work. Next, download the file here:
https://litter.catbox.moe/vl7e7b.7zDrag that luma folder that's inside the archive to your desktop, and navigate through the folders until you see the folder simply titled rom. Not romfs, but rom. You want to place your newly-renamed CGBBYTE1.784 file inside of that rom folder. Then, just copy that whole luma folder to your SD card root.
Hold the select button on your 3DS and turn it on while holding select to get into your luma menu. Make sure "Enable game patching" is checked, then press start to reboot your 3DS. You're all set. If the game looks like it has a sort of dim/gray tinge to it, it's because you messed up the instructions above and the 3DS has the anti-epilepsy filter included with the vanilla VC game activated. Again, this will only work with the US version of Crystal. You can do it with other regions too, but your hacked 3DS should run games region-free so there's no reason to not just do that and make it easier.
